Hi,

I am trying to capture the contents of a word file (a collection of tables, text images etc) and render them onto a PDF file via XML.

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Hi,

Download XF Rendering Server from www.ecrion.com, then save your file as Word 2007 or 2010 (*.docx) or Word 2003 XML (*.xml) and render it with "Run Task".

Regards,
Gabi

Hello Rahul,

We only support DOCx and Word 2003 XML Documents as input types. You can use MS Word to re-save your files in one of these two formats.

Madalina

Hi Anusha,

Conversion from Word input formats to PDF are supported only by XF Professional, XF Ultimate editions. Word formats supported as input are WordML (Word 2003 and later) and DOCX (Word 2005 and later). A comparison matrix of the features supported by each edition of the rendering server can be found here: http://www.ecrion.com/products/xfrenderingserver/overview/compare-versions.aspx

If you want to create your own .NET application, you may consider using our API. The .NET programmers reference can be found in our documentation: http://www.ecrion.com/temp/helpcache/xfrenderingserver4/framed_xf_net_rendering_server_progra.htm

You can also find some helpful .NET samples on our website, by following this link: http://www.ecrion.com/products/xfrenderingserver/technical/samples/dotnet.aspx

Regards,
Madalina

Hello Anusha,

Unfortunately, Word (.doc 1997-2003) inputs are not supported by our rendering server.

The only supported formats are the ones mentioned previously (WordML - Word 2003 and later and DOCX - Word 2005 and later). You can use MS Word to re-save your files in one of these two formats.

Regards,
Madalina

Hello Gagan,

We only provide support for our products, so we can't offer you specific support when it comes to Microsoft products.

However, after briefly investigating your needs, we found this link that might be useful: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2405417/automation-how-to-automate-transforming-doc-to-docx

Thank you,
Gabriela.
